SEE-TECH, Seeing Like a Tech Firm: Advocacy in the Era of Platform Capitalism

SEE-TECH examines how major technology firms coordinate advocacy across the EU’s policymaking cycle, from agenda formation in national capitals through legislative debates and the implementation of the Digital Markets Act, Digital Services Act, and AI Act. It also investigates how EU digital rules travel internationally and shape regulation in third countries.

BIT-EU examines how major technology firms influence EU policymaking and public debate. The project established the empirical and conceptual foundations for the broader SEE-TECH research programme.

PEER – The Political Economy of Estonia’s e-Residency

2020–2022

Marie Curie Widening Fellowship, Tallinn University of Technology

This project examined the commercialisation of state-issued residency-related rights through digital technologies. It investigated how the e-Residency programme developed, how it was promoted internationally, and what it reveals about changing relationships among states, digital infrastructures, private service providers, and globally mobile entrepreneurs.
